La Marquesa might have played with co-fermentation and honey processing—but she kept things elegant. This isn’t your typical fruit bomb. Instead, it’s a smooth, sweet, and mellow ride with notes of banana milk, mango pocky, and that creamy tropical hit of cempedak. Think tropical nostalgia without the chaos.
The farm behind this lot—Finca La Marquesa—isn’t just doing fun experiments. They’re also getting noticed. Their coffee earned a spot in Ecuador’s 2024 Cup of Excellence National Winners, and it’s easy to see why.
This one’s a vibe: comforting, sunny, and quietly confident. For those who want fruit-forward coffees without all the fireworks—just pure feel-good flavour.
Roaster Notes: I find this coffee to be a very smooth and pleasing coffee. Sometimes I find co-ferments very overpowering and intense but this is an interestingly smooth ride. It gives off an interesting yellow fruits flavour but it's not type of coffee that lets all the funk out. Its pretty sweet and mellow. Also, this coffee is produced by a female producer!
